Bandsaw Box

Gallery March 28, 2015

I made a bandsaw box as a birthday gift for my mother. This was my first attempt at a bandsaw box and I’m happy with how it turned out in the end. I learned a lot from making it and am excited to make some more of these and experiment with different shapes and designs.

The wood I used was 3/4″ thick red oak for the outermost layers and two layers of 3/4″ thick plywood for the inner layers. I added some white felt to the inside of the drawer with a hot glue gun and finished the exposed surfaces with a few coats of mineral oil, sealed in with spray shellac.
